Junkie Mind (Part 1): Do You Have It?

junkie mind

A junkie Mind, what is it?

Change is a process, but with God all things are possible.

Do you posses a junkie mind? Are you  constantly harbouring  negative thoughts about life, your job, your family and friends?

A junkie mind can cause health problems, dysfunctional relationships along with being alone. In this junkie mind series we will take a look at the downside of a junkie mind.

 Drawbacks of a junkie mind

When you are living with negative thinking in your mind you will not be able to succeed in your life the way God intended for you to.

All your efforts in life to do anything positive or effective will become very hard to achieve because of your mindset.  It causes just about everything in your life to be unstable, including your spiritual life.

Negative thinking patterns corrupt

The knowledge of God and his wisdom will be very hard to comprehend when you possess an unstable thinking pattern. God has bestowed upon you a sound mind, but negative thinking patterns corrupt the gift.

Your thought process contributes to your choices and your choices make your life what it is.

The bible can show you the truth. Proverbs 23:7 says “as a man thinketh in his heart so he is.”

 Examine Yourself

Examine Your Heart – Have you inspected your heart lately? If not, it’s time to start.

Ask yourself (and be prepared to accept and be honest with the answers), what things are dwelling within my heart? For each thing you come up with, ask yourself these questions:

  • Why is it there?
  • Is it helping me or holding me back?
  • In what way is it helping me?
  • How is it holding me back?

Examine Your Mind – Do you do  much junk thinking? What about about your life, is it going the way you want it to or need it to? If not, there is most likely a connection between your thoughts and the results you’re seeing.

Let Go Of The Negative Thoughts

Thinking negative is very toxic. It is definitely all around us, as a matter of fact,  it can also be in us. You may be around people that are extremely negative.

Their words can be affecting you and giving off negative energy in addition to causing negative thoughts of your own. These energy stealers are draining the very life out of you.

People causing damage to mindset

Do you know these people who are  causing your mindset to be affected as well as causing damage to the sound mind that you were blessed with, do you know? As soon as you find out who they are,  you must put an end to it.

While removing these energy zappers from your life is a big part of the process of eliminating negative thinking, it alone will not take care of everything. There is more.

You must transform your mind and thoughts so you won’t conform to the fleshly pattern of thinking, .  To put it simply, you have to change the way you think.

According to  the word of God in Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that ye may prove what is good and acceptable and the perfect will of God.”

When your thinking is renewed to the way God says you should think, you can live a successful life .  Then and only then will you be able to be used in the service of God for others in His kingdom.

Get rid of your junkie mind

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, please remember God’s Word is the key to your mindset changing and to your life changing.  Meditate on His Word instead of the living in the negative.

God even tells you “how” to do this.  According to Philippians 4:8 God even tells you what to think on to do that.

He says, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever  things are of good report if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

When you begin to meditate on His Word in this way, you WILL see your life change. Encourage yourself  and be consistent. Change is a process, but with God all things are possible.
